REVIEW PROCESS

The Osgoode Hall Law Journal seeks to publish papers that make significant, original contributions to legal jurisprudence as well as their respective fields. Submissions are subject to a process of blind review that takes place in two  stages: internal  review by the Article Review Committee (ARC) of the Editorial  Board, which is followed by external review by experts for articles judged to be prima facie suitable. The Editorial Board does not decide whether to publish a submission until both stages of the review process have been completed.

TIMING

The Journal reviews articles year-round, and the review process typically lasts between five (5) and fifteen (15) weeks, depending on the time of year and the number of submissions under consideration.  There is no internal review during the months of December and April, during the examination period, or August, when the Editorial Board takes a one-month break.

Authors will be informed of the Journal’s decision by letter from the Editor-in-Chief. Questions regarding the status of submissions should be directed to the Journal Coordinator by email at journal@osgoode.yorku.ca.
